This is the home of the 2009-2010 LADY STORM Basketball Travel Teams.
Based in southwest Broward County, Florida, the LADY STORM offers girls in the 6th, 7th and 8th grades, the opportunity to participate in Division 1, team basketball. In this division, we play with and against some of the best caliber players/teams in the State of Florida.
The coaching staff of the LADY STORM is committed to providing a quality basketball education, teaching young women the intricacies of competitive team basketball in an environment which encourages fun and fosters lasting friendships. Our girls want to come to practice and work hard towards a common goal….. success!
Our definition of a "success" may be a little different from other teams. We believe that the winning recipe is achieved in three parts, and in this order:
1. The girls must have fun. Win, loose or draw, when they stop having fun...its over! Women athletes require different styles of motivation and we understand that.
2. The girls must improve at basketball. Girls who workout with our teams get better ...... period! Achieving a spot on our roster guarantees that they will dramatically improve by the end of the season. Our philosophy is not to "freeze your child in one position," but to teach and let them experience every position on the court. Of the girls who played for the LADY STORM last year, all of the girls who tried out for their school teams made it. Two of those teams made it to Broward County's final four in 2010.
If you don't like to be challenged, the LADY STORM is not for you!
3. Our girls learn to be team players and exceptional individuals. We teach and encourage respect, loyalty, sacrifice, humility, self discipline, work ethic, academic excellence, community involvement and foster the sense of responsibility to each other. We inspire leadership and promote mentoring for our younger, less experienced players. We sincerely believe that all players, regardless of their team affiliation deserve our respect and friendship.
Our organizational staff understand that all of these components are essential to the development of the "complete player."
Our organization is very family oriented, believing that the family is an essential part of the LADY STORM team!
WHAT'S NEW!
The addition of all three of these coaches brings a wealth of talent and experience to our coaching staff and teams. Their presence on our courts brings us one of the highest coach (teacher) to player (student) ratios and they are all exceptional role models for our girls.
We thank all of our coaches and team moms for volunteering their time to help
our girls succeed in basketball and in the greater challenges of life.

History was made in November for the LADY STORM as our first sixth grade team was fielded in the Ron Zicaradi, sixth grade preseason tournament which took place at the David Posnack JCC. See Timely Topics for more.
LADY STORM INVITED TO ZOE’s SUMMER GROOVE
LADY STORM girls were invited to Zoe’s Summer Groove. Our players received an inspirational session with NBA player Walt “the Wonder” Jones and participated in a mini workout. Read more in “Timely Topics”

No "player - coach" head games or gym tantrums. No lies about playtime or false promises of private school scholarships to get you in our door.
No hurtful gossip or other self destructive team behaviors. Players, parents or coaches that do not adhere to this rule are gone. Team work is the key here.
