Win, loose or draw, loyalty is the greatest of all virtues to a team and an organization. The ability to know your role, do as you are told, earn your own way and be loyal to your team mates and coaches, is the the most basic requirement of this organization. If you don't have it, you don't deserve to be on the court with our girls. Those without loyalty and dedication need not apply.

This is the home of the 2011 -2012 LADY STORM Basketball Travel Teams.

Based in southwest Broward County, Florida, the LADY STORM offers girls in the 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th grades, the opportunity to participate in Division 1 and 2, team basketball. In these divisions, we play with and against some of the best caliber players/teams in the State of Florida.

The coaching staff of the LADY STORM is committed to providing a quality basketball education, teaching young women the intricacies of competitive team basketball in an environment which encourages fun and fosters lasting friendships. Our girls want to come to practice and work hard towards a common goal….. success!

Our definition of a "success" may be a little different from other teams. We believe that the winning recipe is achieved in three parts, and in this order:

1. The girls must have fun. Win, loose or draw, when they stop having fun...its over! Women athletes require different styles of motivation and we understand that.

2. The girls must improve at basketball. Girls who workout with our teams get better ...... period! Achieving a spot on our roster guarantees that they will dramatically improve by the end of the season. Of the girls who played for the LADY STORM last year, all of the girls who tried out for their school teams made it. Two of those teams made it to Broward County's final four in 2010.

If you don't like to be challenged, the LADY STORM is not for you!

3. Our girls learn to be team players and exceptional individuals. We teach and encourage respect, loyalty, sacrifice, humility, self discipline, work ethic, academic excellence, community involvement and foster the sense of responsibility to each other. We inspire leadership and promote mentoring for our younger, less experienced players. We sincerely believe that all players, regardless of their team affiliation deserve our respect and friendship.

Our organizational staff understand that all of these components are essential to the development of the "complete player."

Producing teams of "complete players" that can win games is our recipe for success. There are no short cuts or substitutes. When a player moves on from our program, they leave stronger in every way and that specifically is what college recruiters are looking for these days, the "complete player."

Its not just about scoring points or making rebounds.

Our organization is very family oriented, believing that the family is an essential part of the LADY STORM team!

WORKOUT/TRYOUTS

An open gym workout for the 5th/6th grade team is scheduled for Saturday, January 28, 2012 from 12:00 Noon to 1:45PM. Please be on time for this short gym session.

The purpose of this workout is to give players/parents an honest assessment of skill level, find out what players need to work on and to give players a sense of what playing travel basketball is all about.

This is a free session at no cost to players and will be located at Silver Trail Middle School, located at NW 186 Avenue and Sheridan Street in Pembroke Pines.

FORMAL TRYOUTS

Formal Tryouts for 5th/6th grade team are scheduled for Sunday, January 29, 2012, from 10:00AM to 1:00PM, at Silver Trail Middle School. Please don't miss out or be late as limited spots are available.

Workouts Have Begun!

Players who are in the 9th, 10th and 11th grades are welcome to attend a workout at West Broward High School, Sunday January 29th at 2:00PM.

Attending workouts is the first step in seeing how your skills match up with other travel ball players. Coaches can give you an honest skills assessment to help you determine you opportunities.

These workouts will help you in making your school teams for next year and to determine if you have what it takes to make a travel team.

The LADY STORM program is currently is in its "pre-season" phase as wait for our school basketball programs to conclude. We ask that you continue to monitor our web site and facebook page for future anouncements. Players looking for teams may still use the our contact form on this web site to declare their intention to play and to request a tryout for one of our teams. Also, you will be notified of varies camps taught by our coaches to help you prepare for the coming season.

Players who are still looking for teams this season should submit a request on our "Contact Us" page of this website. Players will be placed on a list for available positions and called as positions for teams become available. We encourage parents/players to completely fill out the form with as much information as possible. Players will be ranked by experience and training listed on the form and called first by order of ranking. Additionally, players may be called for practice teams and placed on contact lists for next years rosters.

Coaches looking to coach a LADY STORM travel team may also apply via the our contact form. Our head coaches must have advanced basketball experience with previous coaching experience preferred.

New coaches must be able to pass a background check.
